With the economy taking a toll on school budgets, this may very well be the way to go in order to cut back on transportation and utility spending. Many high school students say that they would not mind having a three-day weekend because they could use the extra time to sleep in, study and catch up on school assignments. Some teachers feel that they could also benefit from a shorter week, as this would allow them to catch up on some grading and planning. However, parents seem to be having a hard time agreeing with the school's alternative solution to sever eliminate their financial woes.
